Hi all,

I am looking for a new GPU, and I was wondering if any of you have experience with Gainwards cards.

I have found a (apperently) unused 970 for €225, and I was wondering if this would be a good card since I am not familiar with the brand.

Thanks

I used to have a 580 from gainward

I do like the phantom cooler, but the VRAM on my unit died after a few years.

I had the same issue with a Gainward GTX 660, it wasn't the phantom cooler, but regardless, VRAM was from Samsung and it died.

I have the GTX 970 Phantom, cooling isn't as good as MSI etc. but it is good enough (ran at around 70c), so a bit below Zotac (from what I recall). Go for it.

Also my cousin has a Gainward GTX 660, not Phantom, and it's 3-4  years old (he bought it used in December 2014), still working fine, although at 42°C idle because of his case being shitty, and the MoBo and CPU running at 60°C idle and 100°C under load, so temp won't be a problem if your case and fans are good
