So i'm a sucker for the NFS series and when I saw that the newest release was on sale for 50% off I thought why not. Upon launching the game I get to the main menu and hit the play button. The game crashes mid load and spits out...

*DirectX function "Dx11Renderer::tryMap" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ... so on, so fourth.*

My specs are as follows:

  • Fx 8320 (No overclock)
  • Radeon HD6870
  • 8 GB Hyperx 1600 MHz
  • Blah, Blah. Blah

I did a little digging and found out that AMD apparently stopped driver support for my card (I've been away from my computer for awhile). Are my drivers causing this issue, and further more, am I unable to play this game, now due to my definitely capable, yet outdated card?

@Mvard if it's an older title try to get the "June 2010 directx redistributable"

Had a few problems with older games on different PC recently and this seems to be the universal answer!

I'm going to try updating DirectX as well as uninstalling the crimson drivers and replacing them with the legacy ones.

That was my next suggestion.
