Default Save files directory

Hello some what of an IT, guy but I'm still learning a lot. 

My friend was changing files directory on desktop and set the default for the documents folder to his (D:) drive. Using the method Luke showed in this video, After trying to change it to a different folder we are hit with a "Access denied". After changing permissions to allow for everything, still the same results. Are we doing something wrong, if someone could let know how to remedy this problem that would be helpful.

you're supposed to do it this way

change the "This PC (C:)" to your other drive

windows automatically manages the folder locations and creates the necessary user folders

then you have to do it the way luke did, i dont think there any better options

windows 10 is a lot better than other versions of windows though, so you should be using it
