Having major issues with GTA V

Hey guys, pretty much i have a pretty good pc= cpu i7 4790K, GPU GTX 970, RAM 16 gbs. When  start GTA up everything is fine to begin with as in loading screens everything is fine apart from the music is stuttered  then when i actually get in the game i get around 1 fps with 5 second freezes i pretty much cant do anything and i've even tried turning down all my settings to see if it was  my pc and i still had the same issue I did have the game working when i updated my drivers but it now doesn't work. Can anyone help me?

Maybe downgrade your drivers, a lot of the newer drivers have been causing issues in older games and this may be the problem you are having. As for which driver to try ??? there are so many and the only one I can recall being problem free is from several months ago, and I don't have GTA installed currently to test (I have the same components more or less so it would be useful if I did)
