Hi, After summer ends my school wants to start live streaming our concerts so you don't have to attend... Is there a way I can do this with multiple cameras that I can switch between with the sound coming from our theater's sound system. I thought about using twitch but isn't that only for gaming? If anyone knows how to do this I would love to hear from you.

Edit: We have software sorted, any ideas for wireless webcams that allow multiple to be used at the same time?

it could be streamed to youtube or twitch; OBS is compatible with mac so there should be no problem with using it as long as there is a way to get audio inputted in to the mac. It would be kinda like a special case. But I know it can be done because I have seen music festivals streamed live on twitch

I don't think so, because those are official events that are sponsored by Twitch.  This would be very different because it's a private school event - as in not sponsored by Twitch.  For clarification though, you can contact Twitch itself by emailing using this form on their website: https://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/emails/new

I looked at the Twitch faq and as long as we own the rights to the music we can do it

I looked at the Twitch Creative FAQ for the full list for you.

It states that broadcasting performance arts are banned:

  • Q. Why the restriction on performance arts? Will this be lifted at some point in the future?
    • A. We feel Performance Art is too broad a category around which to build a tight-knit community. People on Twitch Creative love watching each other make tangible creations, and that is what we would like to encourage. There are no current plans to lift this restriction.

Sorry dude, but there are other websites to stream on!

I think you should look again because

Q: Twitch was founded as a community for gamers. Why are you now adding music?

  • A: Our commitment to gaming remains unchanged. Music on Twitch does not come at the expense of all the awesome gaming channels and events we support. We are pursuing this expansion because we think bringing artists, producers, and labels together with gamers will make both even better. Demonstrating that gamers are valuable to music artists and labels is important for the future growth of Twitch and the larger gaming industry.

Dude, that's with regards to the music and copyrights regarding playing music in your stream.  I'm saying if you want to broadcast the performance on Twitch then it's banned because Twitch is only for sponsored events and for video games.  You can play the music, but not the performance.
