(Hi, Im new here. I thought i would join these forums to see if i could get some help. I was on the ASUS forums and i wasn't finding any help. Is there anyone who has a strong knowledge in laptops and/or knows how to troubleshoot. Please email me at tony1.hourani1@hotmail.com. .)

Sorry as i was doing this stupidly. The main problem i was having with my ASUS g551jw is that i got this PC around a year ago. Everything was fine until i got back from my summer and i went to school. In school we began a course called Technical Drawing which i used Auto-CAD for, i began get the ( Driver Power State Failure) and this was very annoying. The problem persisted every once in a while then became more frequent when i try to do other tasks like run a game (LoL, CS:GO) then when i watch a YouTube video. The hard-drive gave in at last about 3 months ago and i used a BLUE WD 500GB drive. It was working fine till about 3 weeks when it began to run extremely slow,i would click a basic application like Google Chrome and it would take a minute to load, and when i finally get on the browser it takes me so long to get to a page. A little after that the PC began to restart almost immediately after i get to a page like YouTube and there was a weird clicking noise near my harddrive.

(I wiped the hard-drive and reinstalled windows and the PC was a bit slow but as i install the drivers again its working alright, so far no problems) Anything helps)

Anything Helps

Thanks

What problem are you having? Is it related to a laptop or a pc component?

The first problem " ( Driver Power State Failure) " is due to drivers being out of date or incompatible with your system. The second problem sounds as if you had too much junk on your pc (too many programs that start on start up and bog down the system) or malware. If your system is fine now after a clean install, I would try to keep the drive clean of randomly download programs that install other programs that are not needed. Are you having any problems at this moment?

First of all, thanks for being a fast buddy. The second i began to respond to you, I began the driver install for the graphics card, as it got midway, the annoying scratching/clicking sound is back.it came on for 1 min off for 10 sec and so on

That sounds like a HDD writing data. Since you are using a HDD, make sure you are not dropping or shaking your laptop too much, It has a physical disk in it that can get damaged with those types of movements. Are you having any issues right now that are based on the speed of your computer? If that sound is louder than normal then you may have a failing hard drive.
