I have the Intel Pentium G3258 and a GTX 750 running on a cx430 PSU works just fine now I want to upgrade my cpu which will increase my power intake from my cpu by 42 watts so what im woundering is if I can run the new cpu and same gpu on the same psu the cx 430??

The CX430 should be fine

Wouldn't be enough for a midrange+ system (less about its wattage and more about PSU quality) but it should be fine

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

You can run a high-end system on 550W. Here's a couple recommendations at different price points, choose the one you're willing to spend the money for (as the cost increases, nice to have things like modular cables and silent fan operation start showing up and getting better)

http://pcpartpicker.com/product/3hkwrH/corsair-power-supply-cp9020102na - $54.99

http://pcpartpicker.com/product/qYTrxr/evga-power-supply-220g20550y1 - $74.99

Those two parts are totally fine on a CX430. Any current CPU would be fine on it with a 750ti.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
