Just watched this..

 

love the case, just what I've been after... but the price... wow.. thoughts? I made a comment in youtube just now, should be near the top so I won't repeat here, thoughts?

The MBX MKII starts at $1250 (USD) for the base model. So it's not that insane.

 

I'd presume he's talking about $700 (CAD).

That's not a valid argument. There is always something more expensive. The point was, it's a metal box with a piece of glass, where is the $500 extra going over decent $200 case.

It isn't made for everyone. You don't see every one driving a lambo. One could argue the same thing

Looks like a lot of complex angels and corners to make and likely quite a bit of hand assembly. 

 

You have to remember they have to pay somebody to put it together. Then there's raw material cost + machining of them. And at the end still make money. 

 

CaseLabs cost $170-$700+ (USD) and they don't even come assembled, nor are they made of 1/8 inch (3.175mm) aluminium .

I agree with what you are saying, their other cases are not anywhere near this price range, and are just as nice. So unless it's made from exotic materials that are inherently expensive, you've not won me over. 

 

This just smells like the case manufactures getting on the enthusiast bandwagon to make a ton more profit, sorry, I'm not prepared to prove them right buy buying it.

Phanteks is not known for overcharging for their cases.  They offer the near best, if not the best, value for your money cases on the market.  Maybe this case is different, but I doubt it.

i'm not attacking anyone and i'm sorry if it's come across that way. I'm more bemused at the acceptance in the forum of the price of this thing with no real argument that's convinced me it's worth it. My view is it exists to money grab. I understand that you get what you pay for and quality costs. their other cases are just as nice and half as much. I don't get it. Clearly I'm on my own here, which worries me somewhat that enthusiasts are willing to pay pretty much anything without question.
