Difference between display port 1.2 and 1.3

Any major differences?

 

I'm looking at the Asus Predator X34 g-sync monitor and using it with a 1070 card. Apparently the new nvidia cards support display port 1.3 and the monitor's port is 1.2. Are there any downfalls to using this monitor or should I look at a newer model that includes display port 1.3?

1.3 has more bandwidth but 1.2 already delivers all the bandwidth that monitor needs so there are no downfalls

Thanks. I should also mention I'm aiming for 1440p resolution and a 75-100hz refresh rate for gaming.
