ive just build a new gaming rig, its my first ever build so bit of a noob at this, once before when installing BF4 the pc was so unresponsive in the end it kinds crashed and i had to restart the pc to get my system back in check. ive just been installing some games and whilst on my 3rd game, im installing payday2 the pc has become unresponsive and laggy again. not just on the internet but the whole windows system. on task manager my ram usage is at 99% and am thinking maybe this is the cause? im using the z 170 chipset with my 6700k and some fury x DDR4 ram 16GB. the system and co mpressed memory is what is highlighted orange and being used the moast from what i can tell. on my prebuilt i never had this unresponsiveness, maybe its something ive done wrong in bios or some of my hardware?

msi z170 m5

6700k

16GB DDR4 hyper x

ADATA SSD 240GB

1TB WD HDD

750w PSU EVGA G2

no no gpu, my gtx 1070 is coming today and was installing games so i can test out my new build. i dare not even try and install gta with the size of that game. i think its my memory usage as it hits 99% the only indicator i can see. now ive restarted the pc it finished installing the game as only 2 mins were remaining. the memory usage was creaping up all the way to 60% then dropped slowly to 25% now

1. What's your graphics card if you have one.

2. Did you remember to install drivers and updates? I forgot these when I first built a pc
