Iam looking to invest in a solar panel, I have a Watt -  Volt question.... 

Note* I understand this is not how you refer to it but i need it to be simplified... So bare with me, So take this idea- I have a computer that on a 550watt power suply- The solar panel says it has 1000 Watts, Okay.. Heres the tricky part.

How many of those volts dose it uses per hour? For example.. As in- My computer according to PSU calculator only uses like 409 of those watts... So how dose it use those....How often dose it use 1 watt or the full 409- Or is it continuously using 409 every single second... Can someone help me understand- 

 

 

Note this is an example i don't plan to run a desktop computer off a solar panel-

Your computer doesn't use 409 watts, if it's the one in the signature.  The one in the signature probably idles at under 100 watts and uses 200-250 watts when gaming.

If a solar panel says 1000 watts, it probably means it's capable of outputting 1000 watts of power when it's perfectly oriented towards the sun, with the best sun you could get, no clouds on the sky and so on. The panel produces a specific voltage and therefore a specific current ( voltage x current  = watts).

You would need an inverter to convert that low voltage / whatever current the solar panel outputs to something devices expect, like  110v AC or 220v AC and connect a power supply to it. Some inverters can also be connected to battery banks, so that those batteries can be charged from the solar panel and then use the energy in the batteries when the sun isn't shining (so the solar panels don't produce enough power to satisfy the consumption needs of whatever you have connected to the inverter)
