I want to change from hard drive to SSD. Should I buy new windows or I could still use my current one? My windows is 10 Home

you can use your current windows. Just go download Macrium Reflect, a free hard drive cloning software you can use to make an exact image so all you will have to do is change your boot options to the new SSD.

thanks for the information. I used this software on an ssd I currently have installed in my laptop. It looks like the clone worked, but I'm seeing different data usage from the two drives. For example c:/ has 30.8GB free and the clone drive g:/ has 46.6 GB free... is that normal? Both ssd are 256 GB size, but different manufacturers. The original C: is a samsung and the new g: is a Plextor. I want to format c: and use it for storage because it's old and I'm worried it will fail soon. I would rather store data that's not valuable on there and use the new ssd as my main storage drive. Any ideas why there is a difference in the free space?
