And the old Imacs with the colofrul monitors look pretty fucking cool. But I never was the target market for Apple. I want control. I want to be able to put my RAM at 1.8V even if it's not a wise decision.

That is where their old stuff was cool. My dad is still rocking the Mac Pro 3,1 from 2008 and I just put 2 7950s in it and 2 1TB SSDs. The thing may be old but it is very customizable. People have even put 980tis in them. Same with the 17inch mac book pro. I am have samsung Evo pro in it and it just popped right in. None of this proprietary new stuff they have. Also the RAM I can put in some pretty speedy RAM from corsair, PNY or whoever I want. It is also running windows and has a GT9600 with 512mb of RAM. If they did this now days they would make so much money.

I probably wouldn't believe it when they said "no guys really, this is a customizable piece of hardware we're trying to sell you", but if it turns out that it is, I might bite. If they offer good price / performance, that is.
