I was just wondering what everyone was thinking about the nvidia maxwell cards. I know AMD just released their volcano series but I was wondering if I should get them now or wait for maxwell. I know its a long wait but im in school and gaming is not a big deal right now. What are everyone's thoughts on this and does anyone know why nvidia released 2 new series within a year? I've only been in the computer scene for about a year and a half but it seems the 600 series and especially amd's 7000 series had a long run or am I wrong?

They DID NOT release their volcano series yet, whatever you mean by volcano.

And maxwell is so far away (2nd-3rd quarter of 2014).

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Obliviously Maxwell will be about 10% faster but if you wait all the time you won't get anything.

My Pc: Cpu: I7 4790k @ 4,8 Ghz @1,25 volts, Motherboard: Maximus VII Formula, Graphicscard: 2x Titan X @1,4 at stock voltage (soon to be replaced), Ram: 32 gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 Cl 9, SSD: 2x 850 Pro 1 Tb in Raid 0, 2x Samsung 840 Evo 1 tb raid 1,, PSU: Corsair HXi Series 1000W 80+ Platinum, Case: H440. Soon to be watercooled again, maybe, probably, the Titans are too loud.

AMD's R# 2xx series is supposed to go against Nvidia's 700 series not Maxwell, when Maxwell is released AMD will have their new Pirate Islands architecture out on 20nm.

this.

Also maxwell is far away, but i think that because of GCN tecnology R9 series will be powerfull for long time.

Jeez. The R9 series just got announced, Nvidia's cards came out month or two ago and we're already seeing speculation for next year lol. This is too much.

actually it`s more like 5-4 months ago

You are correct. I guess since they've only released a few models, I don't really feel like the release is done yet. That's probably just me though. :P

Considering neither series is out yet, it's hard to determine at this point.

well that will be bad. why is it obviously ? it needs to be faster than a gtx 690 . its new arhitecture not a refresh.

I meant at least 10% faster than AMD new flagship (RX9 290) which i expect to be around faster 5%-10% a titan. I think we can't expect it to be more than 25% faster than a gtx Titan. (Single Gpu Card)
