Hi, me and one of my friends are planning on making a DDR Machine for my school and i am in charge of the software part of it.  my plan is to use this old dell optiplex gx520 computer and make it so that it turns on once power is applied and boot the OS (in this case windows embedded standard 7) then login automatically to a non admin account and start the game.  here is the back story i first was gonna use windows xp embedded sp3 and i was able to get most of the drivers installed but the one i needed was the video and because of some differences in the kernal it wont work. audio, network, modem, everything else worked perfectly.  now that i got windows embedded standard 7 activated with my 180-day trial copy (located on microsofts website) the only thing that is not working is the audio.  this system uses some SoundMAX Integerated Digital Audio that works fine on windows 7 pro and even windows 10 pro but wont work on embedded standard 7.  Can someone please help me with this as to where the audio will work in this system.  if anything i might be able to get a cheap sound card off of ebay or something to make it work.

after installing windows 7 pro and using the tap.exe to make a drivers file i was able to import the audio drivers during setup and now audio is working.  turns out that their is no backwords support for windows xp drivers in embedded standard 7 unless u add them before u install windows which it does let u.

I have to winder why you're using a embedded version and not just Windows XP.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

the reason i chose to use embedded is because i would like to base it on konami's systems and most of the run on windows xp embedded but i have seen one that was running windows embedded standard 7 so that is my reason plus i get to pick which components i want from a much bigger scale.

you understand that embedded versions after meant to work on the little hand scanners that Wal-Mart employees carry around when they stock shelves?
