Configure direct ethernet connection between pc's

Go to solution Solved by vanished,

First take an Ethernet cable (Cat 5e) and plug one end into one PC and the other end into the other PC.  You don't need a crossover cable or any other special tools... that's old stuff :)

Then do this on both computers.  One should be 3.1 and the other 3.2

Can someone tell me the trick to connect two pc's as client to host to play over lan. I want to have PC A be the host and PC B be the client.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

That's recommended so that Windows and the programs you're running don't have to guess what IP or interface they should launch the server on.  Minecraft in particular is terrible with this.  But if you disable all the other interfaces on both machines while doing this, you shouldn't have any problems.
