What distro and desktop environment do you use/prefer?

I'm more accustomed to Ubuntu but I've been trying Debian recently and have used Fedora 21 in the past. I like Gnome 3 and Unity the most but I've been using Debian with the Cinnamon DE and I really like it.

I mainly use Windows but I run Linux in a VM and on some old laptops, I usually use Ubuntu Gnome with a material design GTK and shell theme and material design icons.

Well I almost exclusively use Windows. I've been testing Debian with a Virtualbox machine for the past few days. Previously I think I ran Fedora and Ubuntu off a live USB. When I build my main PC, I'll probably format one of my laptop harddrives (probably my 500GB Seagate/Samsung Spinpoint Momentus from 2013 since my 320GB Seagate Momentus from 2011 has been dropped a couple times even though the drive was off and not spinning, also more space and newer.)

I really like XFCE tbh.  Others that I like are MATE, KDE, and Cinnamon.  Gnome3 is okay I guess.  My current distro is Manjaro, since it's Arch that just works.

Probably.  Honestly Unity got a lot better with the recent release though.

I like Unity but I thought I would venture out of just Unity and Gnome 3, though I still really like both. But after using Cinnamon for a while, I do quite like it. Especially since there seems to be a lot of customization.

I haven't used 16.04 a whole lot, it seems like a lot of the same. But I think that Unity from like 13.10 to now has been pretty good. I've never really used it in its earlier stages. But I think 14.10 and 15.04 were both really good. Never used 15.10. But I have 16.04 on a VirtualBox machine.

I've only tried 16.04 in a live environment.  Haven't actually used an Ubuntu or Debian-based release in a while.

I currently have ubuntu 16 as my main os and windows in a virtual machine though I really boot it up.

I use ubuntu 16.04 and the unity desktop environment. Never tried anything else.

As a programmer, I when I use Linux it's Ubuntu with the Unity environment. Once you learn how easy Unity makes it to program it's amazing to use.

I like Debian because it seems that it makes customization pretty easy but I've never used Mint, but I have used Cinnamon and it's not too bad I like it alongside Unity and Gnome 3. Right now I'm running an evaluation copy or not activated version of Windows 10 Education in another VM. The joys of VMs? Even if it's VirtualBox? Which I think has a slight advantage because it is open source.
