No, you will not be able to crossfire the two cause they have a different gpu chip. That only works if its the same chip. For example, im crossfiring an r9 390 with an r9 290.

While all are welcome here on the forum including time travelers, please check your time guide when traveling into the future. This is 2016, the 970 will not produce better results.

 

OP, as others have said no. You cannot Crossfire a 390 and 380. So you're stuck having to find another 390, grabbing one of the cheap 980ti's on sale, or wait for Pascal to be on store shelves.

That's more of a sidegrade (or downgrade depending how you see it) if anything. Not worth it.
