Go to solution Solved by lmao234,

£90 for an i3-3220, my favourite i3. Or spend £88 for FX 6300.

So, ive bought an motherboard for 30€ yesterday, and it has socket 1155.

so i was wondering, im short on money, im selling my current rig for 90€ because its very old,

a friend of me said there are second generation i3's on the market for 80$ but i cannot find under 115€??

where did you guys find the cheapest i3?

giovanni

Look on Pcpartspicker for your country, they will display the cheapest prices offered by the popular online retailers.

You shouldn't get an i3 though, what are you using the computer for and what are your other specs?

What motherboard is it? And again, what are the specs of the rest of your PC?

i3 are poor for gaming, if you're low budget you should go for AMD instead. It would require a different motherboard though.

Never buy intel for anywhere between $70-$200 (€50-€150), it's just not a good value.

since you already have the motherboard, I'd actually just grab a Sandy Bridge Pentium, it's just as fast as the i3 for a whole lot less.

Core i3 is a damn good CPU, my Sandy Bridge Core i3 has served me well so far but in my opinion (and as much as I love Intel) you should have gone down the AMD route, I've seen AMD A6's that are OC'able for less than that so, I don't really know.

If only he researched before...

BTW at maker of thread you could have gotten a AMD (FX) Board for less too. AMD FX series would beat i3s.
