ram compatibility

does anyone know if i buy a motherboard that supports  DDR3L would i need to upgrade my ram from DDR3 to DDR3L?

You could use ddr3 if you undervolt it, but it might be unstable so you would also have to downclock it.

DDR3L is designed for dual voltage compatibility at 1.5V and 1.35V when possible, while DDR3 is at 1.5V (stock).

 

As such, DDR3 will work fine (assuming the board isn't specifically DDR3L only, which I've never heard of).

 Almost as cool as my temps
