Hi everybody !

I am new here, I have started to watch linustechtips recently on youtube and I really enjoyed it !

I had the same computer (build) for now 10 years, updated my graphics card once and added some rams to my dual core motherboard.

Now I want to change, and I am looking for a good gaming set up that is durable with a good overall perfomance level.

I mostly play MOBAS,MMOS,FPS. I don't really play games like the Witcher (computer was too old) but if I could why not !

Here is my build, inspired by another computer website:

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Intel Core i5-6600K
Asus Radeon R9 390X 8GB
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB)(C16R)
Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS 80+ GOLD
Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)

Carb 500r Atx Mid Tower White

My question is, should I switch to a Intel Core i7 or change any parts for better durability and performance, (I don't care about really really high graphics that much).

Thankyou for your time !

Have a nice day everyone !

The New One.

If you want this right now, use these parts. If you want to wait, use the new RX 480

Wow hearthwarming to see the amount of replys thankyou guys !

@SeanAngelo @IskanderEXC @Nacho Marco Segui @GarnetDevil @Guuhan

I forgot to mention that my Asus Radeon R9 390X 8GB  is Overclocked (bought as).

So I should return the Asus Radeon R9 390X 8GB for the upcoming RX 480 ?

The RX 480 is better for the price then the Geforce1070 ?

@pankajkumar

Alright then ! I can keep my i5 without concerns :)

@Wolf585

Yeah I found a video recently about how to overclock it (to 4.8GHZ) !

i7 is good when you do video editing staff. For gaming i7 is not really worth it.

Don't buy 390x, wait for rx480 if you just wanna 1080p gaming and gtx1070 if you want max effect 60fps 1080/1440p performance. They both gonna be out in late June or early July depends on where you live.

If you have already bought the 390X then keep it, no use crying over spilled milk

I myself have one (Gigabyte version), and it's a very good GPU

But if returnable, get a 1070

The 480 will destroy the 1070 B4B and will wreck the 390X in TDP

You don't need the 'K' variant if you are going with a B150 board. You can drop the cooler as well and go for the i5 6500.

That psu is pretty awful.

I think he should wait for the RX 480. The GTX 960 isn't great value.

I would switch that case with a case such as Master Case Pro 5 (Same price, with better features). I would also hold off on the GPU until the EVGA GTX 1070 SC ACX 3.0 comes back into stock at $420. The CPU cooler is O.K. for overclocking, but I would recommend either a H80i v2 or H100i v2. If you switch the case to the MasterCase Pro 5, get some nice 140mm fans (Corsair and Thermaltake makes some good LED fans that are 140MM). Other than that, looks good!
