I plan on watercooling 2 RX 480s  but the reference will only have 6 pins. Do water blocks also work for other gpu makers that will put 2 6pin? Or do gpu waterblocks only work for reference cards?

Thank you all ^^

May I ask why you want to water cool two low end cards?

To overclock them and be able to run AAA games at 1440p with my new Freesync monitor ^^

I would advise against that.... for the same price as two 480's and the waterblocks you could have something like a 1080. Which will piss all over the 480's

With GTX card I cant use Freesync =(

Also wait until there are UNBIASED reviews and benchmarks for the 480.

You are looking at

199*2 for the cars

$100 for waterblocks

$200 for other water parts.

You could probably buy an AIO Water cooled 1080 for that,

I also really like the cool factor of a custom loop ^^

I think this is a good idea.  Get 8gb version with custom pcb and make sure blocks are out before buying the cards. If you want to stick with air then a shaftfire dual/tri x will be best

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

G.Skill Ripheartout X OC 7000Mhz C28 DDR5 4X16GB

So does the reference gpu block work with all the GPU manufacturers like Sapphire, MSI, Zotac etc?

Do the aditional power pins always have to change the pcb?

yes, because the stock vrm design will be poo and limited to lower power for 1 pcie connector.

Well that is bad. I wish some1 would make cards for the sole purpose of watercooling and OC them to the limit.
