Looking for desktop speakers. I did make a thread asking about the audioengine a2's couple of days ago but i haven't made my mind up on getting them. So the question is can anyone recommend me something in the £200 price range. 

 

Edit:Not looking for something too bass heavy, i mostly listen to heavy metal, acoustic and Dance "wub wub"

Well what are you looking for? Are you wanting to add a sub later down the road? How big is your desk?

Not looking to add a sub. I just want something that will be great for heavy metal, acoustic and Dance and my desk is 195x110 cm.

A2's are £165 here. The Fostex PM0.3 are £90 and the Fostex PM0.4 are £149.

An amp wouldn't do anything, he would need a DAC.

I don't know what's available in your neck of the woods, where's the websites you'll be shopping from?

+1 an amp is going to give you better sound, it's only going to amplify it obviously. a DAC will give you much better quality.
