All Office icons, Adobe Reader icon missing!

After a major un-installation, that went not-so-successfully, all my Office files like *.docx, *.xlsx, *.other_Office_ext, etc. and also a few other files like PDF (for which I use Adobe Reader XI), Antivirus, and Anti-malware launchers have disappeared, and are replaced by icons used for file extensions, that window isn't familiar with - I shall attach a screen-shot.

MSWord is automatically invoked when calling .docx files, Excel, when calling .xlsx files, Adobe Reader, when opening PDF docs, etc. They open just fine, but only the icons have disappeared...

Very strange.
