Rattling Noise When Rendering

I started rendering a video in Sony Vegas pro 13 and I started to hear a rattling noise. I checked the fans and nothing was hitting them and it stopped when the rendering was done. Does anyone know what the noise may have been? When I render Sony Vegas uses more than 90% of my cpu which is running in turbo mode at 4.4ghz

Could be your harddrive unless it's an SSD. What is your disk usage while rendering?

Do you think it is the cpu fan as the cpu is at 95%?

May be your CPU fan, may be your PSU, hard to tell from where I'm sitting. It's not really something to worry about though, the fan is not spontaneously going to break down on you. Try to locate the problem, you may want to swap it out anyways as it can be quite annoying.

Could even be a cable hitting your fan, which you only hear when it's spinning quickly.

Its likely fan issue. Can you run stress test and keep an eye on all fans inside the PC. Stop them with finger one-by-one to see which one is issue. It could be bad fan, loose fan or just very bad situation of case resonating.

Thanks ill see if I can get a replacement fan for that. Ill check first to make sure it is that first

I'm currently doing a stress test with prime95 and my cpu is at 100% but the fan isn't making the noise. Ill leave it a bit longer and see what happens.

It started and when I stopped the fan the noise stopped so I will get a replacement fan.
