XFX 750i mobo ram compatibility?

My brother is going to be retiring his old computer soon.

I'm planning on refurbishing his pc by doing a fresh install of the bios, along with upgrading his RAM and a cheap ssd
 

Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 
XFX Nforce 750i sli motherboard
Evga gtx 250

 

1. I cant figure out if this motherboard will support 2x4gb sticks of ram - the user manual says the motherboard itself supports upto 8gb of total ram but does not specify how much each slot supports.

2. i also remember reading a long time ago that these old nforce chipset motherboards had a hard time running stable with 4 ram sticks installed - does anyone know if this is true?
 

3. What is more likely to run? 4x2gb sticks or 2x4gb sticks?
