Advice for future small form factor build

So in the last few years I've grown very tired of having a large and "gamery" computer, and also have grown weary of my CPUs thermals, heat output and power usage, as well as the fact that my CPU socket is a complete dead end. So, I'm now entertaining the idea of a new build in a smaller case, but I have a few issues in that department which make it a bit harder to choose (because were it not for these issues I'd 100% just go for a Node 202.

Requirements:

-Unless SSDs become much cheaper and quickly, I need at least 1, preferably 2 3.5 inch HDD bays for mass storage.

-I'd honestly rather not have a case window, because that way I don't have to worry about how it looks inside as much.

-Budget of at most £1000, after factoring in the fact that I already have the storage, the NH-D14 cooler, and an HX750 if it will fit in the case.

This is a build I just very quickly threw together on PC partpicker by mostly sorting by rating and selecting something that seemed good, so I imagine it's not very well done (also the 1070 is just a placeholder GPU, I have no idea which one I'd go for yet, and might keep my 770 for the time being anyway)

Go with the i5 6600K as you have a Z170 board and a big air cooler.

You want a better psu. Something like the EVGA GS 550W would be better. Your Corsair HX is too long at 200mm otherwise you could reuse that. The Fractal case takes a max of 160mm. The EVGA GS is 150mm.

Maybe swap out the Ram for something low profile. I don't know off hand what the clearance is like with the D14 but a low profile kit means you don't have to worry about it not fitting under.

I realised that 500 GB SSDs are a lot cheaper than I thought they were now, so I think a 202 is back on the cards, made a few of your changes as well, thoughts now?
