I currently own a set of 2 8GB Ballistic sports at 16000 DDR3 and was wandering how far the possibilities extend after that in turms of adding ram, i'd like to get a set of corsair DDR3 1866 (2x8GB) and was actually wandering if they could work together so i could get 16GB. Is this within the realm of reality.

If you have 2x 8GB (1600Mhz) and 2x 8GB (1866Mhz), you can put them together in the same system and everything will run at the slowest value, 1600Mhz.

The only thing you cant do is mix DDR4 and DDR3.

NCASE M1 i5-12600kf  RTX 4060Ti FE Z690M-ITX  SF600 NH-L9x65 Chromax  LPX 32GB

They will more than likely work fine, but at the slower speed of the Ballistic 1600 RAM.  I think you meant a total of 32GB, correct?

Depending on your motherboard, you could always overclock both sets to a matching speed.  Very easy to do.

Nahhh i have a H97, i dont think it can do much. I'd probably get rid of the ballistix and get another set of ram later on the line just to be matching.

oohh so you can match size too, so you could have 30GB of ram or 12GB
