Install Win7 from USB to M.2 *HELP*

I'm trying to installing Win7 x64 Ult via usb thumb drive onto an M.2 (sandisk SD8SN8U-256G-1122) but I'm recieving the error message  "CD/DVD drive device driver is missing". I do not have an ODD. Mother board is ASUS B150I. Does anyone know any work-arounds?

BTW, I've already tried googling the issue.

Did you plug the USB stick into a USB 3.0 port? The Windows  7 setup over USB only works with USB 2.0, unless you integrated the USB 3.0 drivers into the boot.wim.

Are there drivers needed for Win7 installation to see the M.2 drive?

Is your usb stick formatted in GPT instead of MBR?

In my case, they were. But I have have the 950 pro nvme, I don't know if it's the case for all ssds, but I doubt it.

Also, is USB legacy enabled in the bios?

How do I install the m.2 drivers?

You need the Windows 7 ISO, the drivers and a program like RT Se7en lite. 

 

Basically, the program will do most of the work for you. 

 

Let me know when you got the drivers and software.

I made a uefi boot usb and tried installing Win7 again. Same road block.

Windows 7 won't detect  M.2 natively you'll need to integrate the drives drivers into boot usb, or you can try the option during install that says to add drivers post configuration of the install. I read about this watching a video of two. M.2 RAID 0 saturate the DMA lane.

I gave up. I went on Kinguin and bought a Win10 key for less that $30

First time I ever paid for an OS. I'm getting old...
