Hi guys, i killed my dads mobo and i am having no luck finding a decent priced X58 Motherboard. So we have decided to buy a whole new computer :)

Here's the Specs:- CPU - i7 2700K <-- Overclocks better than 3770K :D

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z77X-D3H <--- Will i have any issues with using this board with the above CPU?

Ram - Corsair XMS 2x8GB 1600Mhz

Graphics - x2 GTX 680 <--- Already have these

Storage - 1Tb Samsung HDD, and OCZ Vertex 3 60GB

Sound - Asus Xonar DX/XD

PSU - Seasonic Platinum Series 860w <--- Will this be powerful enough to run the Rig and also the water cooling stuff??

Optical - 2 BlueRay Player things LOL and a all in one card reader <--- Already have these

And for cooling the system we will be water cooling the system

Here's the cooling specs: - CPU Block - XSPC RayStorm

GPU Block - XSPC Razor GTX 680

Rad - XSPC RX 360

Pump - Alphacool VPP655/ Laing D5

Res - Phobya Balancer 250 Black Nickel

Fans - Scythe Gentle Typhoons 1850RPM

Fan Controller - Lamptron 8 Fan Controller

Pump Anti Vibrator Pad - Aqua Computer - Anti vibration Shoggy Sandwich

Tubing - XSPC UV Blue

Compression Fittings - XSPC ones, same inner and outer diameter as the UV Tubing

That's everything unless i missed anything :)

Thanks in advance Harbz

Case - HAF 932, and i will most probs mod the case in order to place a 200MM Rad at the front of the case :)

I don't see anything wrong here. You might have to update the MoBo drivers, might. The storage is a little on the small side for a build like this, maybe a 120GB and some more HDDs but that all depends on what he is doing. Which with all of that nice HW he must be doing a lot.

The PSU is fine, DW.

Maybe a higher end sound card, just for looks, which it sounds like a major point in this build.

Since I'm going on about looks, get some sweet looking memory. I was going to suggest just getting 1333, but GL finding sweet 1333.

Oh wait, there's a problem. Are you going to cool two 680's and a 2700k with just one 360 rad? That would work but forget about overclocking. Better mod the case and get that 200 rad in the front.

Post pics, this should be good.

Yes the 2700K overclocks higher than the 3770K but higher numbers don't always mean better performance. Why not just get a 3770K?

(unless you can get the 2700K for a fairly cheap price or you really just want to tinker with the OC)

Motherboard is fine, socket 1155.

If you're not on too tight of a budget why not get some Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz and make it look sweet.

PSU should be enough.

If you're planning on installing a few more programs than just your OS and microsoft suite then get a 120GB. 60GB fills up pretty quick.

Can I ask, why 2 Blu-ray drives?

If you have the 360 rad and a 240 up front it should do ok with just the CPU and GPUs, you'll still get a bit of heat but the performance will be fair.

Post up pictures on the forum if you do end up modding the case.

Hi thanks guys :D

@Wats, what do you mean by HW sorry ?

And SoundCard wise im just getting it as i hope its easier to setup with my dads PC Media 5.1 Speakers, and give better sound reproduction. Ram i will be looking for some nice looking ram, i am tempted to by some Corsair Dominator Ram :)

Cooling wise yeah i know cooling 2 680's and a cpu of one 360mm rad is not ideal, but thats why i have plans for modding the case :D, if i go ahead with the plans of modding the front of the case to add the 200mm rad then i will post up pictures :D. As for the SSD, 60gb is more than enough for Windows 7, and a few day to day programmes :). I also have a Corsair F120 120GB SSD in my rig, so if i decide to sell my computer then i will keep the SSD and stick it into my dads PC :D

@Justin C, My dad wants to attempted tinker with the Bios and OC his computer himself, so i thought 2700K sounds good :)

2 Blu-Rays because i got 2 of them laying around :), well one is in my dads current PC, and the other one is in mine, which i have taken apart and am either going to sell mine or mod it :)

@Both Thanks again guys :), PSU wise everything should be fine i just wanted to make sure :)

Spoiler! You're about to feel silly :P

HW = Hardware

Ahhh Dominator RAM is almost too nice for a noobie OCer. (so is a 2700k) :P GL with the build!

OOO hahaha, Hardware, i was thinking Homework, i was really confused... Hahaha.. Ur right i feel soo silly :)

And IKR, getting such "HW" ;) is too nice for noobs :)

BTW Thanks !!! :)

LoL don't worry we all had to learn somewhere.

Goodluck with the build and the overclock. I'd still recommend a 3770K but the decision is all yours. If you really want to get down to tinkering with overclocks then I'd love to have a spare LGA775 or LGA1366 to play around with. Really learnt a lot from overclocking my old E8400.
