Cheaper still! but not really cheap, how does $600 get to £619.99...

Well 20% VAT is a good chunk

$600 is £415 - + 20% VAT = £498

Well its 700 dollars for the founders so in pounds its 485.

485 + VAT = 582

so they added an extra £40 cause they can.

No, the extra is import tax and duties related....

If UK stays in EU in few years we might win the fight against the port tax and get rid of it once for all :)

There was a topic on tech news mentioning this already happening for selected product categories. No PC hardware yet but some user electronics (headphones, cameras) at least.

Is the GTX 1070 supposed to be out today?

I believe it's at Midnight or shortly after on Saturday. Well that's official release but when they listed it on their websites is up to them...

It really sucks about the lack of stock in UK. Im buying 1070 in July so hopefully by then stock will be just fine and prices not too stupid for EVGA cards.

There is no import duty on a computer related goods from most places such as the US and china in the UK so it would cost them just VAT plus shipping but that shouldn't cost anymore to other places like the US unless they're importing them there and then out to the UK.

Probably gonna be rounded up towards 450

No. 1080 base price is £619, the fact some seller list it higher is disgrace to community because it has same specs...

1070 will start at around 420 not 450 because that would be 1:1 ratio (USD:GBP)

Aftermarket cards will float a lot between £350-500
