Stupid Noob Question

Not sure how to word this but, is it driverS or driver? When you install the software for your GPU are you installing multiple drivers or would it just be considered one driver?

drivers, because for example for Nvidia cards you also install PhysX and 3D shit.

Driver. Windows only need 1 driver for it know the hardware compatibilities, and know how to work with it.

However, like Miniboid pointed out, drivers is used for hardware that has multiple hardware inside, for example: Your motherboard drivers setup, usually have the driver for the motherboard itself, and SATA controller driver if it has one embedded inside. Or like Miniboid example, Nvidia has its graphics card, 3D Vision glasses that no one uses, and audio chip (for the HDMI and DisplayPort audio out).

It's as you would expect, driver when it's one and driverS when it's more than one. Often gpu manufacturers bundle multiple drivers in the same installer because they expect you to use other hardware in combination with the card.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Doesn't matter. As long as you don't call them drive or drives, most people don't care.
