New build for new house

Hey guys,

Been long since I've posted.

Long story short; I may be moving for a few months out of the city where I currently live, but it's not permanent. I already have a house where I'm going to be staying, I'll still go there often.

So, I'll have to make a new build! I don't really have a budget, but don't want to spend TOO much. I've come up with this build (peripherals included):

Tell me what you think!

K good then thats actualy good, it just bothers me when people get the extreme editions just for gaming because they actually make you lose a little bit of gaming performance vs the desktop class gpus

Hi there :)

The plan seems great for a true power horse.

One thing I could suggest is to consider a better storage configuration. WD Blue is a great drive for this purpose but for such a workstation I would think you would be doing important projects and you would want some redundancy for them. I would consider either a RAID1 array with two WD Red drives or an external backup solution (if you don't have one already). :)

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^

Thank god you don't want to spend too much, I wonder if you did what kind of system would come out!

Like Captain said get some better storage, CPU is not as important as storage speed at this stage.

I'm considering going for a i7 6900k, but I think it'd be overspending a little. As I said, I don't have a budget as long as it's worth it. What do you guys think about the monitor, motherboard or mouse? How about the 1TB SSD I picked out, or should I go for HDD, and the headphones?

A suggestion, why dont you run a single 1080 until the big Pascal comes with HBM2 early next year?

I think 1080 is pretty much capable of anything you can game these days.

Why the 40 lane cpu ? I would save some cash and go with the 5820K or 6800K if you want the newer cpu.
