So I'm in the process of building an mITX high performance gaming rig that I can take with me while traveling by plane. I've been looking at the prodigy just because it can fit my Sapphire Vapor-X 7970 and an H100i. My only question is does anyone know how the Phenom will do in terms of cooling my graphics card? I wanted to get the Prodigy with the window side panel but I've read from other people that the lack of ventilation holes on the window makes the graphics card run really hot so most of them opted to stay with the regular side panel with the holes. Does anyone have any idea if my graphics card will be fine if there is enough ventilation within the case? I will have a 230mm Spectre Pro intake at the front, 2 Corsair SP120 Performance intake for my H100i on the top and a 140mm Spectre Pro exhaust in the back.I do plan on doing overclocking on all of my components so they might be generating quite a bit of heat. Do you think I will have enough airflow within the case where it wont be suffocating my graphics card or should I stick with the Prodigy?

are you asking cooling wise or travel wise?

travel wise always remove your GPU. a vented window will let crap in. dust and garbage

cooling wise sure a vented window will let air in but at the cost of sound.

a window will be fine and look nicer.

Cooling wise. I already know that it will be small enough for me to travel with. I just want to know if my graphics card will be suffocating without any ventilation holes on the side panel like the normal Prodigy has.

Since you're going for a 230mm front fan as long as you get the black (mesh) front on the prodigy then that should be able to pull in enough air over your graphics card to keep it cool.

The Phenom and coloured Prodigy front panels have a solid front with only some small strips down the side to let the front fan intake which would seriously restrict it. Personally I wouldn't feel confident that it would give good enough airflow for serious over-clocking.

I think my question was a little bit misunderstood so I will clarify. The normal Bitfenix Prodigy has ventilation holes on the side panels so that the graphics card can take in a little bit of fresh air from the side. The window side panel on the Prodigy and the new Phenom both do not have holes so basically my graphics card would be right up against a solid plate. I was just wondering if there was enough of a gap between the graphics card and the side panel so that cooling would not be an issue considering the air flow I have within the case. Really I'm just wondering if the holes on the side really make such a huge difference since Iv'e read about other people complaining how their graphics card ran 10-15 hotter without the holes on the side panel. The graphics card is a Sapphire Vapor-X 7970 so its a dual fan design and not a blower.
