Remember to make your build look nice :) I am moving away from ATX, because I feel like it is just a waste of space, because you can CF and SLI on a mATX board and the cases for mATX can be a lot smaller than the ATX ones. You don't really loose anything on a mATX board.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

I like the micro atx muilds too where they have them in a nice open loop. But I want to go big this time with E-ATX in a small case xD

Looks great, CPU cooler is a bit of an add choice, If it has to be a single fan radiator cooler, then I think the Corsair H80i V2 is what you want.

Is there anything I should change as far as getting the best for $3000.

Unless you're an enthusiast, you're wasting your money. I'm just going to assume you're an enthusiast.

Definetly go Broadwell-E, and a 1080. Unless you want to wait for next years Kaby Lake-X, and 1080Ti, which I think is going to be a massive jump on the Intel Side, and Big Pascal is going to be great.

What more do you need than a 5820K? What is the definition of a "badass" system?

That CPU is pretty much what you need for all your 4K Editing workloads.

Don't listen to people telling you your system is too expensive and you are wasting money. If the components you like is what you want then go for it, I like the godlike motherboard too and while you can't justify the cost of it for aesthetics, if you have the cash then by all means do it.

These. These people have more money than sense, and are willing to spend whatever it takes for even the silliest of reasons. If you want to make a sensible build, then I'm all in. If not, then do as you please, I won't bother, because I don't have much knowledge on how to waste money.

So you don't reason with people who have money? You do realise that to have money in the first place (assuming you didn't receive a grant from your parents), you have to have quite a lot of sense? I'm sorry but if I have 10k to USE on a pc (use not waste, as waste is purely a point of view from somebody with less funds), I can buy the most expensive hardware and TO ME it is justifiable. To you it might not be, and that is perfectly ok, but don't go telling people they have no sense just because they want to treat themselves with stuff that most people can't afford or don't deem "sensible".

Also people do not buy stuff because it's all they need, they buy it because it's what they want. Do you need a custom loop in your PC to cool a 4.5ghz i7 ? No. Would a cheap £100 AIO do it well? Yes. Would I get the custom loop anyway ? Of course I will.

No, not really. That's a big assumption, and a big generalization of the term "sense".

This is where your logic falls apart. So you claim to be "quite sensible", and if a can of soda cost $1, and another can of soda with your favorite can design costs $10000, would you buy the 10 grand soda? Just because it's justifiable to you? Just because you can afford it? Not only it's nonsensical, it contradicts what you said previously - people with lots of hard earned money have lots of sense. If they did this, I seriously question their "lots of sense".

Now you've come out clean. You want it. Even if it is a huge waste of money, even if it doesn't make any sense, even if it doesn't do any better, you want it. You are letting your desires control your decisions over rational thinking.

Lastly, people do buy stuff because they need it. You eat vegetables because you need it. You buy medicine because you need it. You buy an overpriced gaming rig over an adequate rig because you want it. The first 2 cases are completely sensible, the last one isn't.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($51.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock X99E-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA2011-3 Narrow Motherboard  ($249.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($222.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 950 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive  ($317.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Superclocked Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card
Case: Corsair 380T Mini ITX Tower Case  ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair 760W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($149.99 @ Amazon)

The excellent psu is way overcapacity. I would suggest something in the 550W - 650W range. You might consider the SeaSonic SS-660XP2.

I'm not a big fan of the Seidon 120V cooler. Have you seen http://www.overclock.net/t/1592811/lga-2011-v3-narrow-ilm-and-all-in-one-liquid-cooler-compatibility?

The Seagate 2TB ST2000DM001 has a very poor reputation.

Did you consider other memory parts?  I would consider  Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3000 Memory, or  G.Skill TridentZ Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3000 Memory.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
