I've had this board almost a year. I've had luck OC'ing my 8350 with power savings enabled, which only max multiplies 4 cores to 100%. 4.7Ghz with 220 fsb at 1.52v in BIOS 1.40v under load. Stable

With everything disabled, running all cores 100% on intel burn test IBT, only 4.2GHz stock fsb at 1.42v in BIOS 1.38v under load. Stable.

I get massive vdroop with anything over 1.45v.

I've used Vcore offsets +.05v and +.1v and auto. Vcore offset is applied at idle. 1.45v with +.05v offset reads 1.5v at idle in Open HArdware Monitor and CpU-Z.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only noob who bought this board. I joined LTT for tips. I gave up on it before. Figured I'd try again.

Look for a load line calibration setting in the BIOS, enable it.

Yea. We don't have those luxuries. Thanks for trying though.

  • 4 weeks later...

Biostar driver agent wasn't wrong. My drivers were out of date. The downloads available for my motherboard aren't all listed properly. I lost my ethernet while on Win 8.1. Couldn't figure it out. So I rolled back to Win 8.

Win 8 didn't restore ethernet. So, I used a USB dongle to get online. I've never successfully installed the Win 8 LAN driver from Biostar website. It claimed I had a Realtek Ethernet. So, no hardware found. Win8 update recommended the "correct" Atheros driver. Didn't fix ethernet though.

SO......I tried the Win7 driver from Biostar. Which successfully IDs mine as Atheros and fixes my problem. I've been on tech support with Biostar and they say that Biostar driver agent is third party, I'd have to contact them. So why does Biostar driver agent say Biostar drivers are wrong? They don't like that question.
