Hello, right now I have a AMD Athlon II X4 640 and it is not giving me the power that I need, and I don't think it will hold up to BF4 very well. My question is what is a good CPU to get me medium+ graphics in BF4 with a price range of 100-300 USD. Any suggestions would be nice thanks!

What's your motherboard and what's your PSU (VERY important), also what's your current GPU. What's your budget for motherboard and power supply and CPU if you need to exchange more than just CPU?

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Here are my PC's specs. If I need to buy a new PSU I'd like the cost not to exceed 100USD if possible, and a motherboard 200USD.

The power supply... probably will not be enough but still might be worth checking it by opening the sidepanel of your case and reading the side-sticker of your PSU (or make photo) - what's the exact model? You wont find that info in software, need to check with your eyes x)

If you can use up to 300 USD on a CPU then Intel 4670K is the obvious choice :)

It is the best CPU for up to 300 USD and it is the best CPU intended for gaming purposes (i7 and so forth will be bether still for gaming but it is so stupidly little that it's no point getting them if you are just going to game :) )

But I guess you will need a bigger PSU then and you WILL need a new motherboard since the old one is not compatible with it... You will have to get a Z87 board :)

Well I opened up my case and the only way I am going to see my wattage is if i take the whole PSU out of the case, because there is a panel that divides my case for cord management covering it. So ya that is a problem, but how many watts would I need to get a good CPU.

Are you overclocking your cpu?

Are you going to do crossfire/SLI of any GPU in the future?

Based on these two questions I can recommend you a power supply, motherboard and cpu.

If you aren't overclocking and you don't want to do SLI/crossfire, you can get i7 and mobo and power supply for around 400-450$ total.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

You will definitely want an FX 8320 + a 7950 (any 7000 series graphics card) for BF4 to get Mantle support.
Mantle will massively improve performance on 7000 series and newer AMD cards it will also add full 8 core support for AMD CPUs with 100% scaling, meaning with each extra core you get significantly more performance.

I would go with the FX 8320 and a ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0. A 650W would be enough for a single gpu configuration but I would recommend upgrading it to a XFX Core 650W if you have the money to because it isn't a great brand imo.
