As long as you use the middle fan only, you should be fine. The NH-D15 have cutouts on the sides for this issue.

Theory is when you know everything but nothing works. Practice is when everything works but you dont know why. In this computer, theory and practice are combined: Nothing works and i dont know why.

Atleast i can manage Some things, like my current OC personal best.

But then the performance would not be as  good as it is with 2 fans

The difference will barely be noticeable, as my temps went up 2-3 degrees c with only the middle fan.

Ah ok that seems fine. How much space is left over with your Corsair LPX DIMMs? TridentZ is quite a bit taller.

With mine i managed to almost get the second fan level with the middle one. You will, of course, be able to put on the second fan, but might have troubles closing your case instead.

If you've already bought the D15 ignore this post

If you haven't, get the D15S which improves compatibility with a lot of things.

Ah thats good. It is still possible that I will be able to close the case because I have 190mm Tower support

No I haven't bought the NH-D15 yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I will plan on buying the NH-D15S

That would probably be a possibillity.

Going on a tangent would spending the extra money on and AIO loop be a better cooling option anyway?

Don't bother if it's only a 120mm rad. Go for at least 240mm.

I say jiggly-bytes when I see "GB".

It goes down better than you would expect.

So with the NH-D15 the only AIO that would beat it is 240 rad?

Most likely yes, depending on what AIO you go for. If you were to, say, get a Corsair H100i, you could overclock your CPU to way beyond what an air cooler could offer due to the lower temps, but that entirely depends on the application.

Ok. I think for now I will get a NH-D15s until I can afford to build a custom hardline loop.

Wow thats impressive.

Note that the NH-D15 and other large air coolers trade blows with AIO units even though they have slower fans by as much as 1200rpm (e.g. 1500 vs 2700). Put faster fans on the NH-D15 and it will outperform most 240mm AIO loops and even many 280mm units.
