What's your display set up? If it isn't 4k or 1440p 144hz there's no reason to buy a high end GPU like the 1070, especially with the RX 480 on the way

aside from that buy a higher quality power supply like this one

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kz7CmG/evga-power-supply-210gq0650

and look for this MSI board

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I'm set on the FE

You are quite literally paying more for less, the founders edition cards only exist to make nvidia more money for exclusivity for fanboys in the first few days

Can't say I'm a fan boy though I do want the card sooner than later and have the money for it. I appreciate the input though.

Your money is better spent on a higher quality PSU, and waiting a week for the better custom PCB cards

Also what was your display? If it only 1080p 60hz, you shouldn't bother buying a high end GPU

6.5/10.

-1 for Founders Edition GPU.

-2 for such a poor quality PSU.

-0.5 for picking faster than supported RAM.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

It is 1080p 60 but I plan on upgrading in a month

Well then you're better off upgrading your display before your GPU, because GPUs are always getting cheaper and displays aren't really

and for near the price of the 1070, you could get an RX 480 + a 1080p 144hz Free-sync display, or any other free-sync display, since they'll be cheaper than a G-sync display when you upgrade, and the 480 is going to be a pretty capable GPU for the money, might even be this generation's GT 9800 if it really does perform at a 390x/980-lite level for around $200/250
