Free video editing software?

On an old PC I used to have and use windows movie maker which came free for a few things taken with camcorders. Well I got a new camcorder set up to use and I don't know how to format the video to upload to youtube. 

 

One thing to note is that I don't actually do a lot if any editing. I usually just upload my videos raw, so it doesn't need to be very complicated.

 

It's just I don't remember because it's been a while since I uploaded anything to you tube. Back on windows movie maker I just slapped it into the program and clicked something that said publish which formatted it or whatever into the right kind of file which I then uploaded. Sorry I'm not that bright with software so I don't understand much.

I was actually thinking I wouldn't be able to use it  because on the Microsoft website the download didn't say it support Windows 10 and it hasn't been installed by default since 2012 or something, but I took your advice and tried it anyway and it worked so thanks.
