Hi,

I currently have my 6700k at 4.3 GHz, with the summer coming in I am going to use my PC less and for lighter cpu workloads,

with that being said I was thinking to get back to default speeds, but then I thought, what if I downclock it at, lets say 3.5-3.6 GHz, would I save some Watts and could I decrease fans speed even with hotter room temperature brought by the summer?

And if you think it would be worth it, how do I do it? Do I just turn down the multipliers just like when I oc? Do  I decrease the voltage ? How much?

Thank you!

Intel i7 6700k @4.6 1.330v  cooled with H110i GT // 16Gb Kingston Fury DDR4 ram @2133MHz // Rx 480 Nitro+ // 2TB + 1 TB Hdd  // 250 GbSSD // on an Asus Z170-A // powered with Corsair RM750i // all  inside a Corsair 600C

Your H110 is more than capable of cooling a stock 6700k as log as ur not gaming at temperatures around the 50C mark u should be absolutely fine. Just a quick question what is the current gaming load temp?

Pretty much this ^

H110 will handle a 4.5ghz i7 6700k just fine in 28C ambient temp, which I believe is deemed as hot. I know because I've done it :)

Infact my EK Predator handles it and that's a 240mm AIO not a 280. So you are good to go bro.

What average and load temps are you getting at the moment if you don't mind me asking ?

I dont game really often...

When I run Android emulators to test apps it is about 67 Celsius, but with fans at almost max...

It was just to be able to turn fans ant minimum since I'll might leave my  pc on for long but jsut to browse,  I am not planning to do any programming project this summer...

U should be more then fine, those temps are nothing to worry about even tho they are abit high for my taste. maybe you should reseat the cooler with some fresh thermal compound.
