Bad network setup need help

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

As you asking for advice on a server.

Your 2600k system is enough for this task.

If you want a new server look at dell poweredge or hp proliant.

I need help the company I work for has an old network that is very slow. It has had hard drive issues twice once with them being corrupted but caught in time for the data to be saved and an external back up drive to be added. This time it looks the hard drives have completely kicked the bucket after the computer company told them to leave the main computer on 24/7 so it would do a back up after work hours. What I am looking for is either recommended upgrade of what it is currently being used or a reliable build that will run the 4 other computers that are tied into it. The main computer is intel based while the 4 that are attached are amd based all date back to Dec 2011.

Main computer

Intel i7-2600 3.4ghz

unknown motherboard has a raid controller

2- 1TB hard drives in raid 1

16GB DDR3-1333

1GB video card unknown

DVD-RW Lightscribe

internal card reader

std peripherals generic mouse and keyboard

windows 7

This is what is acting as the host to the other 4 computers. All that is run is QXpress and Quickbooks they are not hooked to the internet so the 2 programs listed is all the company uses on a day to day basis nothing else. The other computers are AM3 processors with 4GB of memory that is all I know of them. Any help on making the current system able to handle the task that it needs to or a new network setup would be appreciated.
