YouTube app keeps crashing?

So I just got back from vacation. As such, I have well over 100+ video notifications from subscribed channels in the YouTube app. I'll be scrolling through the list, then all of a sudden at around the same spot at videos from about two days ago, the thumbnails will stop appearing, then shortly afterwards the app will freeze up and crash. The issue also occurs in Safe Mode.

 

Nexus 6P, Android 6.0.1, latest version of the YouTube app. The issue does not occur with my other Android device, a Samsung Galaxy Tab S running KitKat.

 

Help? How to fix?

I tried that too, no luck :(

It seems to start having issues at the same couple of videos in my subscription feed. Doesn't happen anywhere else.

Hm... try clearing system cache, I can't think of anything else.

I've received reports that there might be issues with YouTube today in my region but that doesn't explain the fact that it works on my other devices.

*sigh*, I was going to do a clean install anyway...
