My current setup http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TrwFf8

My budget is roughly 1000$ for cpu, mobo, ram, and case if going to atx. I am really leaning on x99, micro center has the 6800k on sale for 399$.  I would like to get the 6950x eventually. I am also leaning towards this case if I switch to atx http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811108484

$1000 budget for an X99 build?

Could you tell us your use cases?

The resolution you will work/game at?

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

EDIT - Just seen current setup, one second.

6950x is useless and you might as well get the 5960x at Microcenter for $900.

Even in rendering ect an i3-6100 will be better than that FX 6300, either go for a Z170 and opt for a used R9 Nano or get a lesser GPU.

You don't need all those fans, not yet. AF fans are very mediocre anyways and not worth the $70 you are spending on them.

This PC is very unbalanced and bottlenecks will occure.

Wow...

That is his current setup, not the planned build.

Currently I'm only running in 1080p 144hz main monitor and a 1080p second monitor. I would like to get custom water cooling parts next in a month or two and then a second and possibly third nano. Or by that time upgrade gpus to something new who knows. I have a feeling I will always be upgrading or modding I just want a good platform and gpu that will last me a little while. I bought the fx6300 due to a strict budget at first and I already had the air 240 case. If I upgrade to atx I can put a cooler, psu, and r7 I have laying around in the air240 as a secondary system for the wife and kids to use.

Why would you say the 6950 is useless because most uses won't see a benefit? I would mind the 5960 in the future but it's too far out of my budget right now. I think I'll really like a 6800 or 6850 I might not even want the 6950 but only time will tell I want to keep it as an option for the future tho.

6950x is just the definition of monopoly.

Do you have a color scheme?

You need RAM, MOBO and CPU right?

Difference in 6800k and 6850k? Is it like the 5820k vs 5930k where the difference is a slight OC and more PCIE lanes??

Unless you do like AutoCAD or rendering/video editing for your degree, the 6800k will last you 3-5 years.

I'll suggest parts if you say Form factor, colors ect

Gaming mainly but I plan on going back to school for something in the computer field so who knows in the future.

$1000 is too little for all the things you're asking.

I'm in Computer Science, all I need is a keyboard. No fancy PC or any other requirements.

For example, this build is ~$750, and perfect for gaming at 1080P 60FPS. S save the extra $250 since this build is well balanced, unless you specifically need something.

I already have a system. 1000$ for cpu, mobo, ram, and case should be doable.

Ah! How could I forget :S.

For 1080P gaming, I don't know what more you need than the parts I provided. Practically speaking, you can save even more money by re-using parts of your old build for the new build, rather than blow the whole $1000 onto something you won't even use it to its full potential.

With that being said, this is what I would do if I were you, considering we are just gaming at 1080P:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($169.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($84.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $254.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-06-04 00:34 EDT-0400

And that's all. The build you have right now is solid except the CPU. Re-use everything else.
