Hi guys I'm just getting into water cooling and am looking at getting a GTX 1080 and water cooling it and was looking at the msi aero standard card instead of a higher end cooled one or the founders edition as this is much cheaper and wondered if this will any difference from getting the one of the other cards?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You have to be careful. Some vendors will modify the PCB layout to better suit their design and this will affect your ability to mount the block. Just make sure the card uses a reference PCB and you'll be fine.

EVGA's FE is reference PCB, plus you can remove the cooler without voiding your warranty. I would go with them. Just stay clear of the ones that use custom PCBs, like the SC and FTW.

I say jiggly-bytes when I see "GB".

It goes down better than you would expect.

Yeah the one I was looking at is reference pcb and is on the compatibility list for the ek block but just wasn't sure if it would make any difference to the overclockers capability and yeah I'll take a look at that evga one if that's the case.

Thanks guys
