Blower style is the best for this type of case, since that will move the hot air out, "normal" type of cooler will spread the heat in the system and that is not good for such a cramped pc. So you better get a FE or wait for Asus or gigabyte to make one.

Don't forget EVGA or PNY; they usually have blower versions as well.

Can you show the interior of your case and what fan mount options it has if any?

It may be suitable to add or upgrade the fans in your case to compensate for the heat from the 1070 without needing a blower/reference design cooler on it.  I believe I've heard that the blower coolers are louder and less capable as other coolers and may impact a GPUs performance at higher loads.

You know... In lots of situations, a open air gpu still beats a blower style once you consider temps/noise.

Plus you can always just use a cpu aio.

Personally I think there isn't a good reason to use a blower style cooler anymore.

they are not that good. The Asus turbo is genius since it can suck air from the back side and the front side, but the asus card itself is kinda meh

In that case a blower will beat the open air.

I'm kinda doubtful...

Open Air coolers still outpreform blowers in the Ncase M1 and that thing has effectively 0 ventilation.

But if any case would  favor blowers, it would be that one...

The N1 also has pretty good airflow, in this case the hot air will just go straight up into the CPU cooler. If the airflow is bad in a case blower is the way to go if it's okay/good go open air.

The M1 has literally no fans, and I've seen results with just a c7 cpu cooler that has blower 980ti's losing.

But ehh the 1070 is lower power consumption than the 970, it probably won't make a big difference either way.

no, but it is a very open case when you compare it to the asus prebuilt case and you can easily get okay airflow in it.

The lower the TDP the better for cases with bad airflow.

Yikes.  That looks really cramped.  Maybe a blower would be a good idea.  I guess it depends on how well those fans cool the interior.

I'm curious though, how is it set up to have the GPU at a 90 degree angle to the motherboard?  Is there some sort of custom adapter?
