Referance or not?

Hello! I'm planning to buy a graphics card and water cool it.  I'm buying the MSI GTX 980 TI (  http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-OC-980TI-6GD5T/dp/B015DROXMU?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER  ) and I'm buying the Titan X Waterblock from EK Waterblocks.  I know the Titan x and the 980 TI are the same but I'm not 100% sure that a non-referance card is also the same. Thanks!
