Bose soundlink mini 1 software update?

I recently faced the fact that the bose soundlink mini 2 has some small useful features features on its predecessor. That got me thinking that one could maybe upgrade the firmware of the mini 1 to get that additional functionality.

The problem ist that the Bose tool that I found is either the wrong one or just a pos. Either way it doesn't let me upgrade anything.  Any ideas, experience helpful tips? A place where one could find some molded software for that sort of stuff?
