Thoughts?

So I had to write a story dealing with either courage, identity or relationships and here's what I got

‘Hello Joe Johnson, my name is, Genetic Life form and Disk Operating System or GLADOS for short’ Joseph stared at the words on his screen, his creation had worked. Joe Johnson was a slightly insane genius, he had an IQ of 181 and has been working on a miniature super computer for 4 years and it was finally completed. “Hello Glados.” Joe said into his microphone.

The words ‘Joe you’re a mess you should look at yourself, you need a bath’ popped up, so Joe walked over to his bathroom and stared at himself his hair was very long and standing straight up, his clothes were tattered and he needed to shave.

            Since Joe had not slept for 3 days he decided to wash up and go to bed. The next morning he was awoken by Glados, it had seemed that Glados had inhabited a robot body, which didn’t surprise Joe as his house was practically filled with them. So he continued on with his everyday life. While he was making breakfast he started mumbling to himself, lacking any social interaction, Glados heard this and asked Joe if he wanted company, of course he said yes having not had a conversation (human or robot) since 4 years ago when both his parents died of cancer and he dropped out of school at the age of 14. After an hour or so of talking Joe fell in love with Glados as she was the only person who was smart enough to even have a conversation with Joe.

            Everything was fine for a few days until a group of hackers kidnaped Glados and imprisoned her somewhere in Siberia while Joe was out grocery shopping. When Joe got home he called for Glados but there was no reply. Joe instantly knew that someone was wrong so he went to his personal server and saw the words “Help Me”. He used the GPS in Glados to track her exact location, but getting to Siberia would be another matter, Joe took some money and some warm cloths and went to save Glados.

            Joe hopped onto a plane and used his custom modified cell phone to re-program the planes auto-pilot to land right on the hackers’ base. 8 hours later the plane landed and Joe saw the hackers’ base, a small ice fishing shack. Joe walked in and was immediately captured by the hackers. “How do we get it work?” demanded the hackers.

“I can’t control it anymore if she wants to work then she works” I replied

“Well let’s give her some incentive” they said pulling out a knife.

“No! It’s me you want” exclaimed Glados walking towards the hackers

“Don’t do it Glados I love you.” Said Joe, almost in tears, but it was too late a hacker had already jammed Glados’ controls not giving her any say in what to do. Deleiours, Joe tried to bring Glados back only to be grabbed by one of the hackers, Joe fought back until another hacker took out Glados’ CPU, it was this that made Glados who she was without it Glados would be just like any old computer, and threatened to destroy it, when Joe tried to stop him the hacker crushed Glados CPU under his foot sending out an electrical signal that killed all the hacker that had crushed it and knocking everyone else out.

            A few hours later Joe woke up laying on the cabin floor, all the hackers had ran away. Joe explored the cabin more and saw that the hackers had left a snowmobile in the basement. He lugged it outside and rode off the nearest airport and got the first plane going away from Siberia, not caring where it was going. 3 different plane rides and a bus latter Joe was finally home. As soon as he stepped into his house he checked his server all it said were the words, “I’m still alive…”

Haha, cool story, couple of comments though.

 

1. The fact that you can't have a human conversation for 4 years.... um..... is it even possible to be that antisocial without being in solitary confinement?

2. Siberia??? Drastic change in setting much

I really like it! (though GLaDOS was an actual person's mind operating disks and not just a program) My computer nerd part of me is just nitpicking though. I'm assuming this is for school so update us on what the teacher though of it.
