I have always been a coolant guy so I need some help with my first water loop.

I plan to buy;

5L of pure water from alphacool: 5L for £20

A Strip of 99.99 silver which I can replace every month. 2m for £5 I found this too. Rip-off Clickly

Anti-Corrosive : Clicky

Would this be all I need?

I would go with the second option for kill coil - that can basically get "stuck" in a tube and sit there nicely. Far as I know, they last a very long time. Really sucks that the water seems so expensive and hard to get over there. Here in Canada, can go into local Shoppers Drug mart and get a gallon of distilled for 2 bucks... Unless you have mixed your metals, the anti-corrosive isn't needed, but a drop or two won't hurt...

Well the metals in my loop are copper and nickel but I have no idea what the fittings are.

Also with the kill coil you can just grab tube and twists the metal ribbon around the tube till it becomes a coil, then when you put it inside a coil it will just sit there. Also it would most likely go in my res anyway.

Hmm, I wonder if anyone had ever put silver coins or jewelry in their loop.

That stuff's crazy expensive, especially the water. Can't you just get normal distilled water at your supermarket which is like .50 cents per liter? Otherwise just take regular water and boil it before putting it in your loop.

Also replacing the silver stuff every month won't be necessary at all. As far as I know that stuff lasts for ages.

^ Nope, don't just boil tap water. Its not so much the bacteria/algae in the water that's an issue (The kill-coil/Biocide will deal with that), but the random minerals, chemicals and assorted crap in tap water. Boiling it wont clean it of that stuff.

Just buy whatever Distilled water is available in your local supermarket, there's no point buying "premium" distilled as the second it hits the metals of your block and rads its contaminated anyway. Distilled water no matter how pure it goes in, will come out the same as each other.

uS is a measure of electrical conductivity, which indicates the level of metal contamination in the water. Plain tapwater measured over 200.

Kill-coils are a fairly permanent solution. The most I would do is occasionally give it a scrub.

Anti-Corrosive isnt needed if you have stuck to the typical water-cooling metals (Copper, Nickel, Brass) and plastics like Acrylic and Acetal. If you have something like Aluminium in the loop, then you would really need that anti-corrosive (and I would suggest getting rid of the offending component as well).

I don't understand, what is the difference of "Pure water"? Is it like...only H2O, and no other chemicals added into the water?

Pure water is actually impossible and highly reactive.
